Introduction:
Manipur State Transport was launched on 25th June 2017 with 15 (fifteen) buses plying along 6 routes and 2 Imphal ring road city bus services.
Achievements:
- In the FY 2017-18 (8 months only), MST earned a gross revenue of Rs. 1,00,19,912/- and provided bus service to 2,57,097 passengers.
- In Financial Year 2018-19 (12 months only), MST earned a gross revenue of Rs. 1,15,29,424/- and provided bus service to 2,38,176 passengers.
- In Financial Year 2019-20, MST has earned a gross revenue of Rs. 1,65,37,563/- and provided bus service to 2,38,181 passengers.
- Facility of Transit Advertisement (Flex Printing) is available in or on MST Buses.
- Facility of Hiring of MST Buses by Private parties.
- Usage of Handheld Electronic Ticketing device to facilitate issue of bus tickets and accounting procedure, to check/limit the leakage of revenue.
Currently, Manipur State Transport (MST) has a total fleet of 27 (twenty-seven) buses plying along 15 routes (Imphal – Moreh, Imphal – Noney, Imphal – Moirang, Imphal – Jessami, Imphal – Chandel, Imphal – Nungba, Imphal – Tamenglong, Imphal – Tamei, Imphal – Jiribam, Ccpur – Pherzwal, Ccpur – Parbung, Imphal – Kakching, Imphal – Yairipok, Imphal – Kamjong, Imphal – Khoupum.
MST received an award for Excellence in Urban Mobility 2018, in the category “Best City in Urban Transport Initiatives” from Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.
Expenditure:
In FY 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20 (till December 2019) the total expenditure is Rs. 2,79,31,571/- (rupees two crore seventy-nine lakhs thirty-one thousand five hundred seventy-one) only excluding the expenditure on purchased of Buses.
New projects:
Logo and Branding of MST:
Open Competition for selection of logo for MST and Branding of MST buses was conducted. Shri. Joel Wizubou Abonmei is selected as Winner for his design of MST logo.
- A state of Art Bus Depot estimated at about Rs. 43,84,49,355/- for construction at MST Complex, Moirangkhom has been proposed.
- Introduction of E-display Transit Advertisement of MST buses has been proposed.
- Introduction of own MST workshop inside MST Complex is underway.

- Imphal – Kakching (42 km) – 2 buses

- Imphal – Kamjong (122 km) – 2 buses
- Imphal – Khoupum (85 km) – 1 bus
Sl. No. 12 to 15 is currently stopped due to lack of passengers.
